I love this variety because I’ve found it reliable and it’s very pretty too. It’s called Lollo Rosso and easy to grow from seeds. You can start some now indoors or sprinkle seeds directly into pots, planters or beds outside. Hope your Monday has been beautiful, it’s been a gorgeous start of the week here! 🤗💚🌞 Lettuce grows well in cool weather but needs cover if the temperatures dip or there is a danger of frost! 😉❄️

Calendula babies, grown from saved seeds, will be planted outdoors just as soon as the nights become reassuringly warmer .. temperatures dipping here below the zero mark. A sunny Friday here and hope you’re enjoying yours too, happy weekend everyone! 🤗🌱🌼 Calendula are beautiful edible flowers, their petals can be dried and used in place of saffron. Used medicinally and for skin care products, they are bee magnets and great for repelling pests so perfect for a veggie patch too! Still time to sprinkle some seeds this spring! 😉🌱

Spring days are sunny but the nights are still dipping in temperatures ... I’m sure you’re also looking forward to warm summer days now! 🤗🍎💚This is a small apple tree that I bought from my garden centre a few years ago. It’s growing in a large 45L tub with holes in the bottom for good drainage. This variety is Red Windsor, crisp with a delicious sweet flavour! 🤗🍎

Sungold is my personal favourite but Gardener’s Delight is a reliable, tasty variety perfect for beginners or children! Loving the cold sunshine! Garlic and chard growing Loving the cold sunshine! Garlic and chard growing in my raised bed outdoors this spring. Chard seedlings planted in late summer and individual garlic cloves in November.
